I agree and said the same thing in my comment. For example, Australian or European creators are as creative and illuminating as the US ones, I guess. 😊
Substack should seriously consider creating a fund for creators that launched a newsletter without the benefit of a large social media audience or are otherwise a public figure and built an small or moderate audience on Substack over multiple years.
This sounds great! For those of us who have no revenue yet I guess the program will not suit us, but I’ll certainly make use of whatever tools available to do great things with my newsletter!
@Substack how about supporting the small independent writers who have supported you from the start? Those who actually need the resources vs funneling funds to big name creators just to get them on your platform.
Did Zuckerberg join your board? First the TikTok desperation and now this.
Every time I have some hope that Substack actually wants diverse voices and freedom of expression, they double down on American discourse. This includes putting the American News tab first, partnering with American journalists, promoting American writers, and now this.
Americans, more than anyone, should be fed up with this and want Substack to become a place for global discourse.
I liked this great and innovative idea, showing once more how creator-friendly Substack is, but why do you restrict it to the US? I thought Substack was an international company going beyond geographical borders.
This is great news to everyone who is currently creating on Substack!
Looking forward to having a fund for an already existing subscription. My long-term vision (for now) on Project Home is to build a media company available exclusively through this platform to"document what the concept of home means for people around the world". This means video, interviews, photo essays, and more.
A similar fund will unlock incredible opportunities, and I can't wait for that.
This is a great idea business-wise! Ballsy actually. Respect. I wonder if there can't be another fund for us OG Substackers who are still trying to build from the ground up here on the 'Stack.
Please launch one for international folks 😩🇲🇽
Great idea. Now, you need to look beyond the US....

Wooow that's massive I also love travel and tour ... To know something new and more experience too
Only US??? Whats going on?? I think spanish autors are not really supported here.
Hahaha nobody that is not from the US is being supported anywhere.

Incredibly disheartening.

Only for people who make 2000 or more - that is so depressing.
*Crying in Canadian* 🥺🍁

I thought this was an investment opportunity. Some folks might have, say, $250 or so to throw together, make a nicer bigger thing.

Thanks! Very thought-provoking.
