Thank you!!!!!!!!! The Weekender is exactly what I’ve always wanted! A well curated collection of vetted and interesting posts across genres. (Like NYT’s Weekender used to be!) So happy about this change.
'An Abstraction Blooded' can be accessed with a free JSTOR account. Off to read it now :-) I'm not a poetry person, but I like what you are doing here; keep it up. TTFN.
I enjoyed the new format. I liked the previous formula sometimes, but this seemed a bit more balanced and accessible. And I think the title is a better fit.
This is fantastic. The format makes reading easy, fast, and fun.
I’m going to humbly drop as a recommendation for a future edition my post about how a volcanic eruption in 1815 led to the creation of Mary Shelley’s “Frankenstein” and the bicycle. https://www.readcontra.com/p/the-year-without-a-summer
So happy to see @👋simone in this list!! So well deserved. I think there is a typo in the title of the linked post though, looks like it should be mornings with an S
Having Substack take back control of the weekly Substack Reads digest has been something I have advocated for a while now. This is great!
Sammmme!
This is cool! Hopefully the Weekender becomes a permanent thing!

Yes!
Hannah and the Substack team, so glad to have you back for Substack Reads. It's so good when you do it.
Excited to see more new faces spotlighted! People we haven't seen yet.
This new format looks SO GOOD
Great roundup!
Thank you for featuring my poem!
Wonderful, Wendy!
What did you mean by ‘Thirteen Blackbirds Look at a Man’ not being available online any more?

Ah, well spotted. It used to be in the poetry foundation website, but no longer there. Thanks for finding it.
Great to see so many cool Substacks featured in the Sally Rooney discourse!
Please allow creators to decide whatever they want to charge for subscriptions. Minimum prices make things worse, not better.
I ain’t spending $8 or even $5 a month on anyone on Substack, given the amount of free reasonably high quality content out there.
But there are 10 or 20 on Substack now that I’d gladly pay $1/month for.
You are depriving yourselves and your creators of additional revenue by not allowing them to make their pricing decisions on their own.

Well said! I really liked the new layout and coverage, too. :)
I love this! It's fun to see so much visual culture in a Substack roundup. Cool, too, to see FlakPhoto in the mix. Thanks for the shout! 👋📸✨

Thank you for including my review of Intermezzo - I can’t wait to read all the others! ♟️🥰
Love the illustration by Carson Ellis here. <3
