Thanks, Sam for all the work you put into this selection! So happy you liked Silvio's work. Diving into the rest of the reads, my weekend just got so much better!
Thank you, Alexander, for signaling my name to Sam on notes! (btw, I'm through with the first part of The Chronicles of Samuel Carter, and I'm loving it so far. I look forward to continuing the series as soon as time permits!)
What a wonderful surprise! Thank you, Sam, for including me in this edition of SR. I also have to thank Alexander Ipfelkofer and Nathan Slake for signaling me to you on Notes. Regarding the half-baked, I really couldn't remember where I read it, but now that you mention it, I do. When I was writing the piece I had a blank and couldn't really pin it down. But I'm not pissed off, though. I just do not agree, respectfully. :) Again, thank you so much for this unexpected inclusion!
Oh goodness me! I am so grateful the inclusion in the Noteworthy section. Thank you so much Sam Kahn! This is a beautiful way to start of the weekend with gratitude. Thank you!
I think a lot of us resonate with the sentiment of wanting to write and previously (before substack) not having a great avenue to share it on. Blogs don’t get the much traffic, social media captions are too short and most of us aren’t writing fanfiction (or are we?)
I’m going to hype up my latest substack adventure One Small Thing which is where we share the small actions/realizations/lessons/things we’re doing to celebrate ourselves, and be the mutual support and accountability for each other. https://thebreathingspace.substack.com to share your own wins and hype yourself up!
Thanks. Let me know if there are any next steps here! My book is really about studying the effects that Industrialization has had on society — the mental and physical impacts!
(Just to clarify, @Substack, Chasing Fog was an Editor’s Choice in The Bookseller, rather than Waterstones, although it can be preordered from there. Thanks again for the feature!)
I'm very excited about the upcoming official launch of QStack, https://qstack.substack.com/, which is scheduled for June. This directory of Substacks by members of the LGBTQQIP2SAA+ community will also include writing by LGBTQQIP2SAA+ people. This will be an important contribution to the world of Substack by helping LGBTQQIP2SAA+ people connect with one another and provide a way for others outside the community to connect with writers in it.
When I joined Substack, I found Sam Kahn and was amazed by the breadth and depth of his essays, commented frequently and regularly. I encouraged him, not, I soon realized, that he needed such, but maybe we all do! Then, more thrilled than I could imagine he and Joshua Doležal asked me to help them create a new collaborative site on the arts that he mentions. Hurrah for Sam and all those he chose for this special edition of Substack Reads. I'm honored to know him.
I can never start my week until I get my forecast from Lisa❤️🩹❤️🩹
I just told you a couple days ago, how !
sick I had been all week! So, I’m obviously a victim of the sonar flares:-/. I hope you’re right when you say knowing about it will make it less on your body, . I’ll let you know next week😉 my central nervous system is so sensitive that I’m sure it’s gonna be bothering me for a while !
if it works lol obviously the flares was making my blood pressure low, which made me dizzy, have vertigo and every other symptom that you listed! The fact that I broke my rib, I think started the whole week off wrong lol ❤️🩹❤️🩹♍️

Huge congrats, Silvio! So wonderful to see.
I can’t thank you enough, both of you!
So well deserved, Silvio. And thanks for reading Carter! Hope you'll enjoy the rest of this little archaeological thriller, too.

How does one get their book shoutout on here? I’ve got a book that I’d love to get Substack to broadcast: https://unorthodoxy.substack.com/p/the-history-of-you-a-book-that-connects
Thanks for letting us know!

Let me know if there are any questions!
Lovely to read about new books from Sharon Blackie, Emma Gannon and Laura Pashby, what a treat!
Thank you so much for mentioning my new book, Sam! ✨

Substack, why have you shut down my site of amusing, often thoughtful drawings!?
Please answer Substack!
