Would be neat to have an edition of Substack Reads of Substacks with less than 500, or even, 200 subscribers. Several featured here are already well-established. Let's get the word out on the writers that are way below the radar.

Good idea. A post that features the more popular Substack with another section of new or less popular. Maybe pick a topic w 2-3 that are super popular and 1-2 that are seedlings.

I would go for all seedlings - I'm sure there is a ton of great work on Substack that virtually no one knows a thing about.

I echo this thought. Really hope that Substack comes up with some features of maybe even daily / weekly curation of new writers or publications that has less than 200-300 subscribers.

Completely agree. Don’t want to see all the big hitters.

Dear Kim,

I love Substack reads. However, here's a suggestion. Include more reads that feature or would appeal to a man. I found nothing in your recommendations that remotely interested me.

Just sayin'

I agree. i want to hear the authentic male voice, the world needs it. The male voice is not the manufactured news, social media perspective. Those are the voices of power, control and greed. Often, mistaken for the male voice. Many women behind the voices of power, control and greed , too.

“The male voice is not the manufactured news, social media perspective.” Yes 👏

I love what’s available on Substack now and I have more than I can read w the current offerings. Understand: any man who wants to write featuring a man’s point of view is free to start a substack.

I’m not a man, but I agree. I feel like men’s writings tend to be more direct and less politically correct, something we are in need of in the writing world. And the world.

Delighted to be included in this selection - thank you!

Great! It would be wonderful if you could recommend readings in other languages as well. 😉

Pretty neat selection this week.

If you are interested to learn about the 100 year history of the Palestine/Israel conflict then I just submitted this an hour ago. It all began with the Balfour Declaration by the British.

We just launched a new newsletter for people with ADHD. It’s at www.HunterInAFarmersWorld.com and based on my hypothesis that ADHD people have a skill set left over from humanity’s hunter/gatherer times...

I have that diagnosis. The book that you reference helped me to accept myself.

I do not bow down to clone celebrities fabricated in the “hellywood” basement. Dogs and cats are gmo. Everything is a lie that we have been fed for a very long time. It’s time to get your heads out of the box and see the Light, before it’s too late for you (sheeples).

Ooh, how does one get to guest edit this space?! I share thoughtful roundups every week and would love to be a guest editor here one week if that's ever an option that opens up!

Loved your picks, Kim! Pammy Anderson rocking it at fashion week was a highlight in a bleak week of global news x

I x1000 second what everyone here has already mentioned. The whole point of Substack Reads is to shine a spotlight on new voices yet almost 98% of it feature established writers with tens of thousands of subscribers. While I enjoy their writing it’s the smaller publications that deserve a spotlight.

I found “Why do we stop playing?,” “How to light the dark months”, and “Why ideas bloom at bedtime” a great trio of articles to reframe this season and enjoy looking in a bit more. There’s plenty to discover by just wandering and not being so busy all the time.

Forgive me for being a downer on the Pamela Anderson no make up thing, but I would guess she's had lash extensions, dental veneers or implants, collagen lip augmentation, perhaps brow microblading and possibly cheekbone implants as well as other cosmetic surgery and maybe even hair extensions, so she is only showing the 'beauty of no cosmetics'. I dont see any difference, she is still a slave to people's perceptions of beauty.

Can anyone tell me how to clear a Substack article once I’ve read it??
