Wow it was a wonderful surprise to wake up this morning and see that my post was highlighted here next so much incredible writing! Thanks so much to Heather Marie and Teagan for recommending it and to Substack for including it in this wrap up!
Thank you so much! Also, sorry for misspelling your name in my comment. Quite the fail. Gonna blame it on the excitement of the moment, but also probably just my poor spelling.
I love these weekly roundups of writers from around Substack for the same reason I love Substack itself: the diversity of ideas, topics, and writers here is absolutely astounding. Everytime I go to the explore page it's like entering a colorful forest with thousands of brand new trees, animals, and birds that I have never before seen in my life, drawn and sculpted with every type of material: clay, crayon, and typewriter. Whenever I stop to focus on any single bird or tree I discover an entirely new universe in itself. Keep up the great work everyone and it's one of my bucket list items to make it onto "substack reads" weekly edition.
Thank you, Bailey. :) Jane herself has a pretty robust setup using Mailchimp, and I noticed that she only had one substantive (but older) article about Substack on her site, so I thought it could be a really fun and useful article to pitch to her!
Hannah writes eloquently and with humor about the challenges of finding new friends in your 30's. She blends her personal perspective and professional insights on the subject to great success. Her clear-eyed self reflections are at once poignant and hilarious. I always look forward to the next chapter as she navigates these treacherous waterways!
I was happy to see some relatively new newsletters on the recommendation list this week! I’ve recently gotten into some Newsletters that are already quite popular, but one that I’d love to see reach more people is The Writing Grove. Lloyd does a lot for people interested in writing communities. Lloyd’s always posting interesting material about language, literature, migration and identity from a wordly expat POV. https://thewritinggrove.substack.com/about
On a different note, it was fun to see a comic featured here. I love this comic, too: https://sadbook.substack.com/ and would enjoy maybe even a themed "Substack Reads" that features smaller comics. I'm also in search of inspiring Business reads, if anyone has recommendations.

👍👍👌
Thank you for featuring my post! 🥳
I hope everyone enjoys the reminiscence.
And the undigested hot dogs.
I can’t imagine that stretch of First Avenue without seeing that big Dangerfield’s sign. Great post, thank you!
It does feel a bit surreal now that it's vacant.
Thank you for the kind note. (And for subscribing!)
I was so excited to see you featured, Jason!!
Thanks Jillian! ❤️
My head exploded when I got the email 🤯
It's well deserved!
It was a great piece Jason! I was so happy to see it featured!
Thank you, Anne!
Currently sitting on 23rd waiting for Manhattanhenge. 🌇
So much great stuff this week! Thanks, Substack.
Also--is it me, or do other people get really excited when they see Substacks they already read on this list?!
Yes!

Yeah there are worlds I am just discovering and I'm sure topics I am not even aware of that have a vibrant community.
This is a great tool to support new writers and publications. Thanks Substack.
I am also enjoying all the latest updates, and looking forward to more.
What would be super great if there is a ‘recommendation’ section where we can see notes from other writers to discover more.
Thanks so much for mentioning 'The Write to Poetry' in your "Substackers in the Press" section! :)
Was such a great piece!

Sounds excellent 😎
So happy you featured Jason. He’s such a talented artist. And that essay by Sean seems really interesting. Can’t wait to dig in!
Thank you, Andrei!
Oh my
God. That drawing of the casserole dish (is that what it’s called? Someone help me out here lol) brought back so many memories!!!
Corningware dishes. Love them!
That’s right! I couldn’t think of the exact name, I just woke up. Thank you!!! You’re a gem!
Glad to help!
Sean Dietrich’s the best writer and he draws his own illustrations! He drew that.
Spite fences !!! 😱

Great selection of Stacks, esp. the new and smaller ones. Well done and congratulations!

A very big thanks for mentioning my article at JaneFriedman.com, in your press section here!
That's a fun section to include at the end of these, since it helps create a sense of where Substackers otherwise play. :)
Great roundup!
I recommend my own tribute to the late, great middleweight Martin Amis. https://barneysrubble.substack.com/p/martin-amis-alive-and-well-and-living

That's a few in a row so I wonder if they are making an effort to find comics to feature.
Would that be of interest to you? :)
Yeah in general I like comics so I'm open to learning about new ones
