I am reading a number of things online to help me with my freelance writing, which I wish you as a avocation in my retirement. Just stole to the library and picked up “The Lincoln Highway” and “The Beekeeper of Aleppo. “ Both finally reviewed.
Two writers brought me to substack (Jennifer Rabin and Patti Smith), and I’m so glad they did. Rabin’s substack has become my favorite weekly to read. It’s a fascinating range of stories, interviews, and investigations of art and daily life. This week she discusses graffiti and Cornbread McCray (the same week he’s on NPR) https://jenniferrabin.substack.com/p/i-was-here
Just started reading “The Last Librarian” by Brandt Legg, published 2015! A futuristic novel that couldn’t be more timely! Parallels of the probable roads ahead of us are uncanny! The story behind the author is interesting as well! I am looking forward to this read and hopes the global elitist’s roads we are currently witnessing will have dead ends before we all lose what we love! Maintain gratitude!
Graham Wardle, writer, director, producer, actor, and best know,at this time, for his portrayal of Ty Borden on the Canadian series Heartland, poems are the most motivational inspiring poems. He has a gift in his ability to speak to the heart. Because he speaks not only to the heart but from the heart his words are mighty and the world would benefit from being exposed
I enjoy Substack. If anything gets me to sit down and read it’s Substack.
I would like to recommend two writers to you:
Alison writes about her visual impairment using a months of the year framework in the following post: https://alisonburnis.substack.com/p/ghost-images
Rebecca's experiences with life, including getting lost, are witty and funny as hell: https://rebeccaholden.substack.com/

Anything written by Ivan Doig is a good read. And don’t overlook Wendell Berry.

Read and absorb any and all you can from Tim Denning. His work is undoubtably the best I’ve seen across several platforms and will leave you thinking.
