Love this round up. Will be checking some of these out. You asked for recommendations - well, I'm new to this space and would love some eyes on my Substack 😉.
I was looking for a reason to get back into the studio and paint. Now I have the opposite — lots of interesting things to READ and avoid the easel (again).
Monkeypox is a viral illness that presents with a range of symptoms. Here's what to look out for:
1. **Initial Symptoms** (within 1-3 days after infection):
- Fever
- Headache
- Muscle aches
- Back pain
- Swollen lymph nodes (a key distinguishing feature from smallpox)
- Chills
- Exhaustion
2. **Rash** (appears 1-3 days after the fever):
- The rash usually starts on the face and then spreads to other parts of the body, including the hands, feet, and mucous membranes (mouth, genitalia).
- The rash progresses through different stages: macules (flat discolored areas), papules (raised bumps), vesicles (small fluid-filled blisters), pustules (filled with pus), and finally scabs that fall off.
3. **Additional Symptoms**:
- Sore throat
- Cough
- Difficulty breathing (if the respiratory system is involved)
- Eye redness or conjunctivitis (in some cases)
Monkeypox symptoms typically last for 2-4 weeks. The severity can vary, with some cases being mild and others more severe, especially in people with weakened immune systems.

I can relate. I used to write a lot for our local paper.. fitness and health tips and I loved it.
Sometimes we get stuck doing one thing we love all the time, it’s refreshing to try new things.
Try Poststructural Corner by Willow Husband-Meyer. Specifically “The A’s and I.” I promise you will be taken somewhere by it.
I love Substack for daily learning and interaction. ❤️
If it is not too rude, I would like to recommend my own Substack 🙏.
I think it’s a great idea. I am planning to as well.⭐️
Thank you 🙇🏻
It’s a great idea. What is it.
This post is maybe a good one. https://open.substack.com/pub/romaricjannel/p/merleau-ponty-and-paul-cezannes-mount?r=38g75g&utm_medium=ios
Autobiographix rocks!!!
For those who dig Kafka and Brod, pls consider checking out my humorous takes on authors, auteurs, and anything else that strikes me as off-kilter.
My latest is on Woody Allen:

Thank you for the shoutout about my new novel! ☺️
The Kafka piece was a wonderful, witty read. I had a different take on him insomuch that everything I needed to know about Kafka is in his work if you believe as I do he was on the autism spectrum https://open.substack.com/pub/bluemorphomonarchworld/p/kafka-is-so-meta?r=2u1160&utm_medium=ios
Yay for including Autobiographix!
How do you get your own ?
Yes please do.
Why should we care. You don’t read them

It took me 2 weeks to listen to the full 15 minutes....completely worth it!!
