Is there actually a market for all this drivel? There is a distinct lack of depth to it all

Ironically I too just published an article on trends reaching the younger generation. May be a little controversial, but definitely open to some feedback:

As someone whose Substack is also youth-focused (about the teen drama television genre), I loved this roundup.

Funnily enough, in senior year of high school, my friends and I went to Applebee's (not Chili's) all the time and called ourselves "The Applebee's Gang." We even had shirts made featuring a group photo with our favorite waiter.

“The rise of cigarettes again.”

As someone who’s only alive because he quit smoking in 1964 when the Surgeon General’s Smoking and Health report was released I am greatly heartened to see that these vapid, empty headed youth will never achieve my longevity simply because of their ignorance. Nice going.

I LIKED this post and I'm a BOOMER. Breaks my heart to see young people struggle so much financially. Everything is WAY too expensive. Going out to eat costs as much as what used to be a car payment. AND I am shocked at what a 20 year old has to pay for car insurance. It's as much as what used to be a mortgage payment. Unacceptable.

We are all going to have to figure out how to get along to fix the economic mess we are in. The healing starts there..

20 year old pay a lot for car insurance for a multitude of reasons directly relating to their inexperience and statistics. It’s perfectly acceptable, reasonable and warranted.

My insurance is cheap and I drive like a complete maniac. Selfish is the new trend so I totally understand your point. 2025 will bring events beyond horrific. Unimaginable. So insurance should be the least of anyone's worries.

Ok. I agree to a point.

Is ignorance of how to use an apostrophe “the new black”? Seems quite trendy…

It aways has been, and among all age groups, as well.

For your next noteworthy roundup!

We are about two weeks out from the Mental Health and Motherhood Conference, which wouldn’t exist without all the amazing speakers who are also here on Substack.

I'm much older than you. Real Beauty comes from inside of you and shows. It's not all about fashion and fake views. Makeup was made to enhance your natural beauty.

How do I stop seeing Substack that aren’t relevant to my geography. I have no interest in North American culture other than the indigenous.

Wow, if pompous virtue signaling were a currency, I’d be rich just from reading that
